Yesterday's Shadows
Oh, yesterday's shadows,
in dim corridors of my mind;
let me go- I wish for flower meadows,
I want to leave all the sorrow behind.
But, shadows come and cling,
they stab me all over like a bee sting;
I just want to hear the birds outside sing.
Shadows creeping,
past memories that come seeping-
I quietly sleeping.
Yesterday's ghosts of sweet love who repose,
always in my heart and soul twined;
shadows on wing,
feathery shapes weeping.
