Yesterday's Joys

Barefoot, I romp on flush of evening’s bliss
when gangmates act as allies to this trance,
my hair ruffling with the sashay of leaves
as if summer air wafts tunes to enhance
the fine chorus of birdsong’s melody--
among cobblestones from old hometown's alley.

And there I find childlike spirit's release
this body darting in malleable form;
while woodland becomes a new universe
bathed in luscious dew the glint of stars,warm--
my pulse rising to catch north- winds recede
that giggles bounce, pop like a dancing reed!

I have to fav this one! I still romp barefoot through the woods, the water, the snow. The child in me reigns supreme much of the time.

I've always admired how you harmonize your youthful liberty with natural wonder Nette. I thinkI'm saying that your heart is young, spirit liberated, and beauty a natural wonder. You have a very rare blend of style and substance genius. The way you reverse the senses in this poem is phenomenal to the discerning eye Nette. This poetry makes me feel young and wise. J.A.B.

I danced right back in time with you, Nette! Enchanting as your pen took me to a time pure wonderment. I can't decide which images are my favorite however to do all these activities barefoot does show a pure trust in one's environment! Magical!
