Yesterday's Gone

Last night I dreamed
Of warm sunshine
Smiling faces remnants
Left far behind
The crows call
Awakened me
The shadows past
I am now free
Chains are broken
Links in a heap
Thank you God
I will not weep
Clearer brighter
Moonlit nights
Calmer oceans
Lower tides
Breathe deep
Oh passive soul
The storms have passed
And taken their toll

wow, now that's a free verse poem. At the end, I hope you meant by taking their toll, that they got what they wanted and shall not return. Awesome read. LINDA
