Yesterday's Dreams Remain

These are the dreams of yesterday
  unfulfilled and slipped visions away
catching rides on the restless winds tenacity
held alone and pushed down by memory.

Without escape, cast into the thundered lightning storm
remembered only by the youth in which they're born
left to resurface in disappointed aged eyes and tears
when time stretches beyond our early years.

Breathe a moment of today
the present of what remains to stay
that hope and contrived perceptions
living in our inner dreamed deceptions.

That was yesterday while this is now
and tomorrow holds heavy on the fevered brow
but those futures that yet remain the same
live only because of yesterday's dreams gained.

Hello DM Babbit, no ones what tomorrow holds Yesterday is gone it is the past. We always dream of what tomorrow will bring. The past is the past for some the past hurts-that was yesterday let it go... Have a nice day my friend.
