Yesterday Today And....

How can I accept today
when I live in yesterday?

Someone said "Tomorrow never comes"
and for me no truer words were ever spoken.

Is it okay to keep the happy memories alive?
or should one just shelve them and move on.

I often look around and ponder life's questions
All the what if's and why's seem to plague me.

We all have choices in our lives, some more
difficult than others.

I can't help but think what makes us take this
road or that?

Where will the journey lead me? and why are
my feet so sore from this walk.

I am happy in my own world, happy in my
cherished memories where it is safe and warm.

Sometimes it is easier for me to be contented
in my yesterday's than it is to look ahead to
all the tomorrows.

Could it be that it is all in the plan?
I mean is it already written down in some book
somewhere with a gate keeper we will all
eventually confront?

I think about yesterday and I try to live for today.
Tomorrow, well that is something or somewhere
I am working on....

Happy memories should always be remembered. Thinking of them can also make one smile and make our tomorrows that little bit easier. Deep poetry Sharon >> James :)
