Yesterday
(Yesterday)
Life and soul...was captured
In those old photos.
Holding onto memories,
She wiped away...her tears
How times have changed
She thought!
They were...the good old days!
Look at the swim suits,
How old fashioned!
With bodies covered,
It brought a smile,
Dresses were down past
The knees,
Not like today's girls,
Skirts up...way to high!
What would...grandma have thought,
If she were alive,
Look at the style of the cars...very old,
Didn't go that fast...you know...
Very slow,
Those were the days
Carefree..
Calm and peaceful
We had the best times,
So Happy,
Life was so much fun,
No worries,
Mothers were mothers
Tables...set at meal times,
Family all...eating together,
Yes my dears...we all ate together,
Couldn't leave...
Until our plates were clean,
Mothers shepherd pies was...delicious,
I used to run home from school,
She was...always there
The house smelling...lovely,
Home cooked food,
I remember it well....
These old pictures
Always bring me so much joy,
I'll put them away now
Safe in this box.
Till family...comes calling,
I don't see much of them these days
The grandchildren have all grown up,
Well they have their own lives.
As long as they're happy.
