the lights went out and you're long gone things that once mattered don't matter anymore I told you all the things that I wanted to say what is past is past and I'm your girl from yesterday the days stretch long and the nights are even worse messages left on my phone are always short and terse my perspective didn't take in all you held at bay the calendar moves forward but I'm stuck in yesterday my heart is gonna hurt for just a little while and when I see your picture it sometimes make me smile I guess the words I love you kinda got in your way nothing is left for you when you think of yesterday
