Yesterday

It has left the stage,
My mind still turns to its page,
The man that shouted at me,
I still hear him like a crashing sea.

I'm drawn to its room,
I’m saddled by its gloom,
The boy who I desired to aid,
Made me an object of raid.

I hear its whispers,
Like a child that whimpers,
I'm trailed by its shadow,
Taking me through its meadow.

The sorrows of my duty,
The ashes that spread over its beauty,
I'm awakened into a new day,
I still see the gloomy ray.
