Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
Yesterday’s a Golden Urn that holds
The nectar of life’s fruits, both sweet and sour,
Devoured and gone. Let memory recall
The varied tastes enjoyed then stored away
Within the Golden Urn of Yesterday.
Today’s a Golden Plate piled high with life,
Held out for us to eat its wondrous fruit;
To choose and feast on what will make us strong.
Fulfillment is the goal through work and play
That’s served upon the Golden Plate, Today.
Tomorrow’s but a shining, Golden Light
To yet become the Plate, and then, the Urn;
Intangible, but most desired of all,
For glowing in the aura of its ray,
The hope for new Today and Yesterday.
