Yes says yes
It just didn’t come from my trembling lips,
I had to search long and hard for it,
and I had to believe it before I could say it.
Morning bounces around in the town, and busy shoppers
Are moving around and my face had a slight frown
That no one could see if they were looking directly at me
I know I had to confirm it before the universe could endorse it
But the words just could not come out and my spirt starts to shout.
Nature confronts me in the middle of the sea, and brought me to my knees
And for the first time I could see the avenue moving in front of me
With a clear path that leads me to the street where I ought to be
There were no obstacles on the way, and my heart was in the right place
It wasn't the words that some people wanted to hear,
because it would cause some people to fear, but I was happy
that I said it because I know it would give me something,
bigger and stronger than me
and it would get me to the place where I want to be.
You have burned the passion out of life
When you start rolling the dice
It is the culture of the soul
And the moonlight that shines within you at midnight
It is not the drunken men in the bars waiting on the stars
But you know what to do, when you walk a thousand miles
Without shoe and asphalt on the street create blisters in your feet.
But you keep going ignoring the pain and suffering, and you
Know that you will win despite the challenges; you know
That something bigger than your soul will make the heavens roll.
I have heard you say yes and you have put my sprit to rest
I have heard you say yes and the universe has cleared up your debt
Yes, is not cheap, it has caused the strongest man to weep,
It opens doors and it closed some,
and it has made you created new songs
sometimes the rhythm is strange
but when you are true to you nothing can harm you.
Yes, says yes, I am ready to take the next step
Yes, says yes, with wisdom I will do my best
Yes, is appealing but it can be sobering
So, when you are ready to cross the street
The universe will help you to complete the feat.
Come and join me for supper
for there are somethings that we must go over
and after that we will meet at the altar
yes, says yes
we all need a do over.
