Yes, It Was a Goodbye
Sometimes “Goodbye”
Isn’t good at all.
Sometimes “Goodbye”
Is a relief with a sigh!
I feel no pain, no pain at all
The door doth close.
My space now in harmony
with my internal void.
My home and heart
not empty to say,
But ever grasping
for its space!
Your boredom written
across your face,
First message I send,
no reply I taste.
No tears leak out
from my gleaming eyes
My heart now, has room to grow
Whether your in it, who says so?
Learning a lot about myself
and of my basic needs
You always prove that
Love isn’t, what its cracked up to be!
I thought, I was in love with you
but you replied, I love you too.
But “in love” with me
your not I see!
We are so different
but were driven by loneliness
Until together, that loneliness
we shared.
I have no pity, nor regret
for a creature such as you.
You take what life I offered
and chewed and ate and chewed.
Your ignorance, I overlooked
but the lack of search for truth,
I cannot fathom such sheep
in the herd like you.
Now you came to know
I cannot be drained
For you dug in an empty well
in time no bottom was felt.
Another, yes, could have scratched
the surface of my very soul
finding something wondrous
not hiding far below!
I don’t know you, for
you have not known me
only remaining, our
incompatibilities!
Laugh I must,
because it’s really your loss
I’m one like no other
even though I maybe lost!
In me, you found no transparencies,
to look at loving eyes
It’s only yourself you search
and then eventually will see!
I told you of my void
the darkness that lies there
We tried a hand at love, friendship, possibly
I found its lining worthless.
No wisdom you possess
or depth of any matter,
the offerings were cheap,
my will you could not shatter.
Revolving around yourself,
your own sun and planet,
so self absorbed, the ways
so blatantly apparent!
Your foolish mind
you tried to hide behind
the obvious musical talent.
But so dry inside, no artist!
Opposites may attract
what a silly notion,
that anything could last
between the dirt and ocean!
No commonality we share
for love of art and words
mine being heaven,
yours the devils dollars!
