Yes

i'm afraid it's true
my dear
the lights have gone off
the jungle rests
the world deeply sleeps
as though it were some giant bear
the sky is no longer aglow with stars
the cities no longer gape about into the void
streets lay dormant
blood courses through the veins
the fowl birds of the air perch high
and great monsters of the deep swim in peace
and my heart for you also stands still
as though it were some giant reservoir
or a broken dam
and yes
i'm afraid it's true
i love you
