Yellow Days
"How lovely yellow is! It stands for the sun." - Vincent Van Gogh
Yellow is the puddle of sun on the lawn;
Yellow is the dandelion daring to roar.
Yellow are the giggles of children at play
that dust them with gold to last all their days.
Yellow was the color of my Nanna’s front door
where her wide-open arms would wrap me in warmth.
Yellow are daffodils, trumpeting at dawn;
long leaves are yellow, when flowers are gone.
