Each and every year, all around America, a kid somewhere is left alone on the bus. Maybe the driver is between taking a group of kids to high school and younger kids to elementary school, and he stops for a bathroom break and forgets to search to see if a child is left on the bus. One story that happened this school year on a bus was the bus mechanic found a kid who was sleeping on the bus and took that child to school. At my work there is a zero tolerance policy. As a bus monitor, it is as much my responsibility as my bus driver's
to make sure there is no child on the bus when we get off and call it a day.
