Years Ago Haunt Me Today

He hurt me
    and now I am pretending

He lied to me
and now I speak no truth

He loved me
    but not more than himself

He touched me
breaking me into a million pieces

I trusted him
he was supposed to be family

I loved him
    but he broke his promises

I told on him
    and no one believed me
