Years

I’ve spent the last few years of my life,
Nurturing the love I have for you.
I must cut our ties with this dull knife,
Hopefully soon you will feel this way too.

It took all my strength,
But I will finally go away,
And disappear into the night,
Hopefully I won’t see you tonight.

I would smash this love into pieces,
Only if I was strong enough to do so.
So I must beg you to help,
To help me destroy what we created
So we can both be free…

No more strains,
No more pain,
No more nights together.

A pleasure to read your poetry today Timmy. I will try to come back later this week to read more. I have a spring cold and not up to reading for too long. Have a wonderful week. Love, Carol
