X..Just Practicing...O

a beautiful thing butterfly whispers a kiss dreamed gentle breeze blowing ~~~ in soft wrinkling hands in the graceful age of time in wisdom shared ~~~ echos softening star fruits glistening in the night i still hear you there ~~~ written words of love passions etched deep into soul timeless in the hand ~~~ golden lotus opens universal transcendence illumination ~~~~~~~~~~ if I miscount my syllables, please do let me know, still working on it. xo these for me are really difficult! I praise you Haiku Masters in here!

this is very beautiful, especially the last and the star fruits one. awesome. but, may I share with you please? Haiku need not be 5/7/5, it is actually prefered with modern haiku masters to not be. in the japanese, their syllables in words are longer, so they need more, in english, our words are shorter, and need less to bring the haiku essence and meaning to light. :) my point is, don't worry about the syl count too much. :) love, Kristin

These are good. Ok you asked so don't think I'm correcting you. The first Haiku 2nd line has 8 syllables. 2nd Haiku first line 6 syllables, 3 line 4 syllables. 3rd Haiku 2nd line 8 sylables. 4th Haiku 1st line 6 syllables, 2nd line 9 syllables. This form takes some getting used to. It's not easy to write these. Keep it up you'll get it man. These are still great! Nate.
