Wrong Time, Right Hearts

Perhaps we met at the wrong hour—
Though the love was real,
We carved each other open,
Not by accident,
But by choice.

Maybe time was never the problem...
Maybe we were.

Could we pretend to be strangers?
To meet anew,
To fall again—
As if the past were blank,
And our hearts had never broken?

Could we turn the page
Without the bitterness
Bleeding through?
