Wrong Time Born

WRONG TIME BORN

Why can’t a long dead poet be my friend
Why does time cause a life of joy to end
Why can’t we spend three hours over tea
Critiquing books and Greek philosophy

Why am I living in this time
Where doing well is thought a social crime
Where words are numbers posing with a face
I am so lonely ---always out of place

Why can’t I touch minds --- soar and crave--
Who’ll Teach my wayward crazy thinking to behave
Why can’t I live a simple life without a phone
Why do I always feel so sad and all alone

There must be someone else who stalks at night
Raging against a fate that kills delight
Meanwhile I search with dynamite to find
Some soul compelled be a friend of mine

Sometime even I feel that I was born in some wrong time zone or earthly time. There are many minds that do not soar and crave. As a retired Professor many days I felt that I was giving a lecture to a brick wall.
