Written in Santa Maria degli Angeli

Are Epicures the same as Epicenes?
“Indulging one’s own senses” – that one’s me.
The ripest fig, plucked from the lushest tree!
Sat here, I know precisely what it means,
amidst these blotting-pad pinks and peppermint greens –
more SingalongaMax than Syngman Rhee.
This is the gist – congeniality.
More Laterans and lattes than latrines.
I must have some Italian in my genes.
Too much, you think? A little over-the-top?
My humble view is, may it never stop!
I’d love to drown in white-veined porphyry!
How better to applaud the Master Plan
than make His Home as gorgeous as you can?
