Writing Today

A couplet today I have decided to write
On a promising day, so sunny and bright

I look around for a hint, a spark, a topic
Suddenly my vision is utterly myopic

I guess I should try peeking deep inside
Take myself for an introspective ride

My gut keeps complaining on how it felt
That the fat in my middle refuses to melt

Tantrums of my eyes seem to know no end
I’d stayed up watching the serial this weekend

I guess I should go for a long nature walk
Hear them bees, beetles and birds talk

I pause to look at the page with surprise
Oh wait,looks like this poem qualifies
