Writing Their Words

These words they wrote
Little girl loves, and the little boy too...

There's a little girl inside her heart
And there's a little boy writing too
Desperate for each other's love
But for all the grief that they've been through
The words brought them together so soon......

There is a chord that's connecting them
But it's really just a thread that's bare
Much to frayed to bear a load
Those times were bad,
But what was done and not said
All the words that matter bore so many times...

Writing their lovely words
The need for each other they had,
The boy and girl so grand
Which they can't seem to admit
A continent between them
Allows them not to commit....

Just looking inside at who they are
Behind their walls erected
Taking peeks over the tops
Crippled...with words that rippled...

They heard their call of love
As they rest their heads tonight
For in their dreams they would embrace
To dance among the moonlight....

I love this! What an amazing way you have spoke of long distant lovers, oh beautifully sad and loving.

My dearest Brooke, every poem you write ripples through my body and mind. Yes, we do indeed erect barriers to our true feelings because of the hurt we have suffered. It is sad at the still-born relationships that might have survived -- and thrived even -- if it were not "for all the grief that they've been through". You are indeed a great poet! Luv &Hugs;) Ben
