Writing On the Wall?

I can't help but notice
the look in your eyes
and the way they no longer
linger or
look my way

they are already wandering
have been for awhile now
seeking out that which they
desire more...

hoping to find
something novel
more exciting
a shiny new
horizon
just beyond
the next bend
a novel plaything

something a bit forbidden
that can stir
the imagination and
the loins
and the semblance of
forgotten feelings
that I suppose
I no longer
conjure

something unfettered by
obligation
responsibility
and the familiarity
that has bred
monotony...
been there
done that

things which have made me
lose my luster
only to become
a dull diadem
in your box
of discarded
treasures
