Inspired by “Writing is really a form of addiction, really”
another superb Cyndi MacMillan line

Fill me poets with a
lawful rush to
every cell of existence.

Hooked like sharks
to wounds, guttle
each new drop, each word,

without which we painfully
pass away in need of substance,
a heart, a soul, any heart, any soul.

Your passion for poetry is enviable. I may have felt it at one time, though not like great music. What I love is the communication, how people open up with poetry. Love, daver

Hi Sweet-ling, what a friend you are and what a friend I have not been... I love this poem, especially the last stanza, which could be my mantra, SUBSTANCE SUBSTANE yes yes yes.... I am sick, still, with some kind of flu bug, now in my chest... How ARE YOU? This season is such a mix of emotions, yes? Trying to work my way back, here, but I keep being hit by both the good and bad stuff of life. Prayers sent as you deal with memories, wonderful and other, at this time of the year. xoxox Cyndi

Hi Cyndi - It sounds like you've had tough life-changing experiences this year. Keep hanging in and look at that little girl face. Innocent and vulnerable like us all. love, Kathy
