Writing Anyway
I need to make a happy one
It’s hard when your heart is pouring out gloom
Like water gushing from a spring
It leaves no room for happiness
I need to make a joyous one
It’s hard when your mind is so concentrated on the sadness
Like blood spilling off a victim’s body
There seems no place for joy
I need to make an inspirational one
It’s hard when everything’s just a blur
Like a newborn infant dying in your hand
There’s no room…no place…no hope
I wish you were here
Oh little one
I’ll cradle you close even as death encloses around you
I can’t make a positive one
But I will write anyway
