Writing

I'd like to write a poem
Of all that I hold dear
I'd like to write a sonnet
That would be oh so clear

I'd like to write in styles
That I've not wrote before
The beauty of a structured poem
Is what I so adore

The rules that shape our craft
Should not be lightly taken
Instead they should be woven
The shouldn't be mistaken

If a certain style you wish to write in
Be sure to know its rules
Then to write in only some of them
Now that to me is cruel

For when all the rules are followed
By the poet oh so true
The beauty of there creation
Will inspire some others too

Thanks for the complement. I had to very good teachers on another site when I started writing. I would not become half as good as I without.
