Writers Block

I’m awake late looking at the clock

Watching it turn, hearing the seconds… tick-tock

This is the usual time my thoughts I release

Then close my eyes and sleep in peace

It’s been a few weeks since my pen hit the pad

Telling the story of feelings I’ve had

I feel lost and alone

For some reason my pen is in roam

For some reason my hand is bare

The pen is beside me, I could see it right there

Just looking at my journal my body’s tense

But none of this makes sense

Same thoughts and emotions remain

My mind and heart still harbor pain

Courage I must regain

It’s so unclear to me

I wish I knew; just wish I could see

What‘s creating this anxiety…

Wow, Lay, it's good to know others have this type of feeling. Sometimes we don't even know the source of stress that can inhibit our creativity. Usually, though, we find out in time. Your muse is still there, it's just struggling to surface. Very poignant write! Love, Carolyn

Hi, Lay. Yes, I think this is something all writers encounter from time to time. You express something known to many. I enjoyed reading this. Luv, Andrea
