Writers Block

Trying to think of something to write,
Nothing seems to be right,
To put down on this stock,
It seems I have writers block.

My face is holding a large frown,
Because I have nothing to jot down,
I stare at this paper and just blink,
Nothing comes to mind no matter how hard I think.

Just staring into space,
With a blank expression on my face,
Hoping my ink will start to flow,
And this paper will have something to show.

Since nothing has come to light,
And I can’t seem to write,
Anything on this line,
So I’ll just have to try some other time.

Just as I think my career is dead,
Something new pops into my head,
Words flow as fast as I can write,
Looks like I'll have another poem tonight.

Succinctly described! I believe there's an in cycle, and an out cycle. I'll flow yet... ;), xomo

...not weird at all, I do feel similarly possessed by my own muse at times.

I agree, poems have a life of their own. You can't force one because it will stink. But when one is ready you cant write fast enough. Sometime I am surprised in what I wrote. I don't think I'm smart enough for some of the stuff I've written. I believe at times outside forces has something to do with it. Is that weird?

Such is a poet's life. Well penned, Timothy.

You have described a very common ailment that strikes writers quite well with the words and lines you have chosen.
