Wristwatch Waiting

While waiting for her this morning
I looked to my watch to see it had stopped
Why didn’t it work I wondered?
I know its battery was new
But yet, time for me had stopped.
The last thing I remember
I was crossing the street,
But, I never reached the corner
Yet, here I am, waiting for her.
It is my fate to wait for her
As in life I loved her
For in my death as well
I will wait for her
Time has no meaning without her

Michael, you started out with a bit of humor but ended with a profound reflection. Great line -- "Time has no meaning without her." Thanks for sharing, Carolyn
