Wrapping the Gifts

To wrap Christmas gifts Is not so easy to do When the dog is near As soon it is wrapped It is pawed openedhe She is told to stop Barking is heard loudly She does this to open gifts The more gifts wrapped- She will paw open Whether it is her's or not The dog does this every year

Darlene, you are an aunt to Maggie. I am a mommy to Sophie, a black cocker spaniel with a bit of white fluff under her chin. She leaves presents alone, but bothers almost everything else. Children I know have a problem not opening presents around here though; it is always the children. Nice reminder poem for me!

A good example of what Christmas is about. Memories of Christmas are full of similar moments for most. A perfect Christmas would be dull for me at least. One of my daughters when little always had a few chocolate Christmas decorations early. Our cat attacks the tree. Regards David in NZ

This is charming, Darlene, and reminds me of my Cocker Spaniel named "Ce Soir", who LOVED to open packages! We couldn't put presents under the tree until Christmas morning or he'd have them all undone, lol ... we had presents for him every year, so he learned that there were good things inside. (Thank you for reminding me of his sweet spirit that I miss). I now have two cats, and they love to sleep under the tree. Wonderful write - Merry Christmas, my friend! :-) <3
