Wrapped In Red
I present myself to you,
And only you
Dressed in red
From head to toe
Adorned with a
Cream-colored ribbon
Waiting to be unwrapped
During the holiday, but
You revealed my mind
Thoughts of despair and hate
Instead of soft curves
Under the red lace
And for that,
You ran from the dark person
A person I don’t claim to be
But can’t hide from
No matter how hard I tried
Splatters of blood
Behind my eyes
Freeing myself from
The disgust on your face
Hanging by a thread of
Ribbon which once
Beckoned to be slid open
As a gift to you
