A cautionary tale

Dryads means mushrooms

A world arises as dryad clusters of interlaced oysteruos flair umbrellas fairies from sunburst orb piercing rays. Vast umbra fae churn soil into a sea of plush fungi filigree in midst fields blanketed with lush evergreen forestry. Highland's spore-bearing rush wild, elevating charm. The gloaming illumination, an alternate universe climaxes as Jinns grant wishes to intermesh the electric event, an

Congratulations on your third place win, Anaya, with this tour de force where you gave us a tantalising glimpse of an alternate universe peopled by the little folk. Your sustained theme of the flora (e.g. mushrooms) won the day, as did the seamless transition between the prose and tanka by employing the continuation technique. The final line in the tanka with its reference to poison, contrasted well with the mood set in the description of the external world. It made me read the tanka prose again when I realised that everything is not as it seems at first glance.

Thank you, Suzette yes you got it...pixies protect themselves with mushrooms poison and the mushrooms make for perfect umbrellas for the umbra fae! I enjoyed both my woven worlds immensely. I had the seamless transition going for me, lol. Thank you, the best challenge, yet!

Thanks, Wen! It wasn't at first 87 or so words, trimmed. I think it's better now, I'm learning. XO

Daniel, this piece is about fairies who possess a planet of poisonous illuminating mushrooms, they use to protect themselves if anyone takes a bite, hence, "apple bright" as in William Blakes meaning death. A fantasy world. Thank you for your visit, glad you enjoyed! Warm wishes ~Anaya
