Wounded Hearts

Self Expression heals the wounded hearts,
so the children must play their parts in order
to survive a world in which morals have taken
a nose dive,

The stresses they face are complicated and
complex, at best, they will never end up on drugs
or run away from home, if they have outlets to revel in,
bringing them joy and understanding,
They will never think of taking their lives ever again,
even when the chips are down and they can't find friends,

Wounded Hearts can be healed
and take control of fates and destinies,
gaining power through their own abilities.

I am enjoying reading the many diverse poems written by the many wonderful poets writing and sharing here at PoetrySoup today. I am happy that yours was among the ones I had the pleasure to read Margeret. Love, Carol
