Would You Believe Me

You think I fell for you
Because it seemed dangerous.
You know that I like going fast,
Running in rainstorms,
Snowball fights barefoot,
That I like music played loud-
That I like to sneak out
Some nights,
Because I feel so much
More alive after the sun
Goes down...

Would you believe me
If I told you that I run
From everything,
So it's no surprise that
I always try to escape-
That I love rainstorms
Because they feel honest,
That I love darkness
Because it's so much
More- gentle-
Than bright light...

Would you believe me
If I told you I fell in love
Because you made me
Feel safe?
