Would I Even Be Alive
Rising at dawn with a final yawn
For sleeping does not come easily
My back so stiff
struggling from my bed
Where once I sprang
with vigor and youth
Springing no more
now I’m long in the tooth
To keep me going many tablets prescribed
If I stopped all the tablets would I survive
or would I even be alive
On a good day with PD
I often wonder
did they get it wrong
As singing and dancing in my head
I walk normally along the prom
But on a bad day the tremor relentless
And my energy levels so low
I stumble along the promenade
Hating PD so
But generally I am a positive soul
So onwards and upwards my life must go
I live by the sea, how lucky for me
As it fills me with peace and tranquility
