Worth Waiting For
I
planted
some seeds
a short while ago
Growing so fast but battered by gales
The winds and the rain with intent to destroy
My favourite flowers ~ My favourite blooms
Reaching six feet their flowers emerge
Great
Excitement
~
Great
Joy
~
Are
these
giant
yellow
blooms
~
With
their
smiling
yellow
faces
Spreading sunshine galore
Like a dozen tall soldiers standing erect
And I smile each time I open my door
Facing the sun with the cheekiest smiles
Are my bright yellow sunflowers
with smiles I adore
And these beauties were truly
worth waiting for...
