Worth Waiting For

I planted some seeds a short while ago Growing so fast but battered by gales The winds and the rain with intent to destroy My favourite flowers ~ My favourite blooms Reaching six feet their flowers emerge Great Excitement ~ Great Joy ~ Are these giant yellow blooms ~ With their smiling yellow faces Spreading sunshine galore Like a dozen tall soldiers standing erect And I smile each time I open my door Facing the sun with the cheekiest smiles Are my bright yellow sunflowers with smiles I adore And these beauties were truly worth waiting for...

What we plant and nurture, then see blossom...the rains and sun rewarded, for their moisture and blessed warmth. Great write!

Beautiful and well written in a form of a plant, which I assume it's a sunflower. Hugs.
