Worth a Little More
Something that we latch onto
A better sense of judgement
The better thing to do
To make a good statement
Forgetting the heart
Watching others mistakes
This is when repetition starts
When souls tend to break
Could it be worth a little more
To think a bit further
To break it to its core
And let happiness gather
This has been done before
Again not learned
You have seen, witnessed the hurt it has in store
Leaving joined lives stained
Could it be worth a little more
A bit more thought
Open up a few more doors
Remember all this has brought
Instead, throw away
You blow out the light
grow too tired to stay
Too tired for that little fight
It was not worth a little more
Pain was growing
Couldn't offer more
Now your standards are lowering
Friends are growing
The depth, shallowing
Was it worth a little more?
