World of Love

I don't want you to be some short term sex thing
I don't even want you to be my best fling
I want something real and you to be my girl for good
I wanna erase your scars, and shower you with a world of love

I've never been the best with emotions or showing how I feel
I've pushed most people away and then I just deal
But I want to pull you closer so I'm trying to be truthful
Let you know all my flaws, and hope you still think my heart is beautiful

I could hide it all, but I'd rather be honest and factual
I'm bipolar so sometimes I act irrational
If you see the good in me, we could have something magical
The old me would of just wanted a one night stand, and called this poem laughable

Could you love someone as troubled as me?
If I promise to protect you, will you go through the struggle with me?
I make mistakes and fall short I won't lie
But you've captured my heart, and done more than caught my eye

I'm a working progress, I'll never be a finished project
I'm growing daily, and I haven't stopped yet
When I'm weak I need you to be my strength
Cause sometimes it's the princess who saves the prince

...I think we are all a "work in progress" to some degree or another...and if I'm not, I believe then, I will have stopped living and that bites :-) You write with such honest emotions that convey strength and vulnerability. the line: "The old me would have just wanted a one night stand, and called this poem laughable" is brilliant! ...and the last line...what a great ending! Superb writing Alex :-) it is a great pleasure to read. a fave, 7+ blessings, lynn

Another fabulous emotive poem from your pen Alex. Love the last line. A definite 7 in my eyes.
