Work: Trucker

The colossal terrific moves by itself,
Rolls to its own beating drum,
Through every port in this miniature town,
Onto the road to become,

A tequila of truth carrying cages of crates,
Moves them to a new shop on the hill,
To unstrap and vacate then lock up the doors,
And return to the base to refill,

Detergent, dog food, CBM Toxic 8,
Stickers smacked all over the back,
Warning signs to watch out, to stay far away,
Warning signs that are written in black,

Every day he wakes up, brushes his teeth,
Farewell to last nights darkest dusk,
And slides into the cabin bigger than big,
To start work in his magnificent truck.

has to bee magnificent to compete with other monsters that run on track and can carry a broken down truck but trucks have the heads up when heat is piled on and tracks buckle. I think a hybrid might outdo them both. Brilliant poem - up to your usual standard. Still have not figured out why Poetry is so good your side of ditch. We pray that temperature trends are proven wrong this summer, you need a few more cool heads over there. Regards David in NZ

Hi David, thanks, over the last year I've become a trucker for a change in life, totally different to the rest of my life, it's so full on more than I realized, this year's heat isn't anything like last year's. Well done for you guys being the top country taking on covid, the world needs to learn from the you lot.... not so much cricket though.
