Words of Wisdom

The pain is real, but we all have to overcome a different struggle
The rain is real, but we all have to jump over a different puddle
We're all struggling, and the hurt is different
But we should all encourage each other to grow and provide words of wisdom

From a young age the world was weighing me down, I wish I had padded shoulders
Had to raise myself from a young age, because I didn't have an older
I made mistakes that I judged myself for
But they became lessons and began to help more

Was never great with love, but who is at a young age?
I was playing girls and continuing with my dumb ways
Depression visited a lot and it was never a fun stay
I started to win the battle, once I stopped trying to runaway

Sometimes I play vulnerable just to see who takes advantage
Because then I know who not to call when I'm stranded
Some will laugh while you crash, I care about those who are there to help me repair the damage
Some don't want to be there for the journey, but pretend they always had your back once you've landed

I've been let down and betrayed by the people I loved the most
as soon as they needed me, I was always there for them
When I was falling, they didn't even throw me any rope
Yet they'll call me up now, and I'll still be here for them

But that me is gone, I'm no longer being a doormat
Walk with me, or walk away, but you will no longer walk over me
Me and depression fight daily, there isn't a location to where the war's at
I've been weighed down for a while, but I will get my shoulders free

The pain is real, but we all have to overcome a different struggle
The rain is real, but we all have to jump over a different puddle
We're all struggling, and the hurt is different
But we should all encourage each other to grow and provide words of wisdom
