Words

I found comfort in the embrace of words
As they held my attention and self tightly
I felt loved, warm and ever so respected
That I came back here, daily and nightly

These words fit me as a new coat or shirt
Comforting me totally, as if in a dream
I felt protected, sure of myself, endeared
I felt all this for discovering their meaning

Words by friends may be just words to you
But to me they are a covenant, so true
They become an eternal pact, like the rainbow
Leaving me so happy, instead of so blue

As, I promise when giving my words to you
To fill them with heart, to give you my all
As you promise the same, I take then at will
For all words then shared, keep us enthralled
