Words

Whispered promises of forever
your words never had weight
lives lived, alone and dissevered
defying the hands of fate

I stand alone, aggrieved and proud
knowing that I had been true
that with eyes afire, head unbowed
my words will see me through

I can speak of love, of pain and hate
of how they nurtured my soul
I have memories, both joyous and strait
and all have taken its toll

Careful now how you utter your lies
for I can suffer no more
To forget such past, the time is nigh
things will never be as before
