Words that often come too late
Words of grief
Words of loss
Words that come at such high a cost
Words of secrets
Words of lies
Words where shadows and darkness hide
Words of humor
Words of placate
Words so empty they have no weight
Words of trickery
Words of ploy
Words with the ability to destroy
Our words so easily make haste
From tongue to ear, we don’t hesitate
With no thought to the power that they hold
When directed at friend or foe
Some words so strong with venom bite
Lasts long after end comes to the fight
