Word Power
Harsh words can rip the soul,
or crush the tender spirit.
An insult cheapens he who speaks,
as well as those who hear it.
Courageous words make us brave
inspiring us to boldly face
a tedious task or danger fierce
with confidence and grace.
Tender words change the climate
from hot & humid to cool & fair,
pave the path to sunlit meadows
broken fences to repair.
Loving words, softly spoken
can cause the heart to sing
that wild sweet song of joy
which only love can bring.
Some words wound, others heal,
words have power, choose them well.
