Woods

I walk towards the woods
                       green and deep
Once inside I find it hard to sleep
What an illusion the woods do give
of being green and being neat
Since deep inside animals sleep
                        waiting till night
that's when they eat
I lie and I watch
              see shadows in the dark
My mind becomes fuzzy
              my body scared
I see a large -- large bear
              standing in the night
He approaches my tent
               from the right
grips my shoulder
               rolls me over
my eyes blur with fright
the bear growls
                It's just me son
       it's daddy

Hi again Tony! The only way I know to thank someone for their comments is to either click on BLOGS...at the top of the Home page of Poetry Soup.(Tho not everyone has a blog, including me). Otherwise, the only other way I know is to click on their names under your own poem (where the comments are) and their poems will come up. Then, you can comment on any one of their poems, and also give your thanks.Do I make any sense?? If I didn't explain myself well...don't be afraid to ask again! Carrie

What a cute surprise ending!! Loved this! We have always loved camping, so I can picture this happening with our son! Nice writing!!..Oh yes, to answer your question (the comment on my poem)...you can write to other soup members, by commenting on their poems. It will show up under their poems, but not under yours. I usually correspond by commenting on their latest poem, but any of theirs will do. It won't show up on your own page..just theirs. It's nice to have you here Keep writing!..Carrie

Awww! this was so adorable! It sure makes me nostalgic too... I can't wait to get out of NYC! I really do miss the calm of the woods...as long as I don't run into any bears! Anyway, this was a very sweet write! Keep up the good work!
