Winged Warrior Poet Rhyme

Wooden Warriors

10,000 wooden warriors stand tall near the river’s edge
Anticipating a botanic brawl the generals make a wedge
The Maples fierce and proud bark at the pernicious Pine
Branching the battles boughed entrapping the venal vine

The Aspen and the Birch alliance together they are strong
The Hickory and Elm’s defiance rumble in as they prolong
Shrubs and leaves pay homage to all the damaged goods
Thus now left in bondage as you enter the wounded woods.
