Notes About The Poem

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman
What happened to the me I knew back in the bloom of girlish youth I wonder where the years have gone when I still feel just twenty one. My hair's now fifty shades of grey was a brunette back in the day Wonder where these wrinkles come from yesterday I’m sure I had none. I wonder where I've left my watch the damn thing has gone and got lost Wonder where did I put my specs why is it that I soon forget. Where on earth's my bottle of gin where’s the glass that I put it in I’m sure that they're somewhere around oh why is it they can’t be found. I bought a lottery ticket but I’m unable to find it If it won I’d be reminded in language not of the kindest. Feels as if I’m swimming through fog the mechanics of my mind clog All I ask is please do not shout given time I will work things out. A bit forgetful is allowed I’m Wonder Woman - and so proud.

I LOVE THIS POEM! It explains a great deal of what many of us are - you forgot keys, I loose them all time and time again, and when I want to drive somewhere in a hurry and can't find them, I get into such a flurry! Good thing that I remember my destination! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

This was such fun to read. Well done Wonder Woman. I have a few things I wonder about as well, like why is there no Wonder Man?? Things that make you go “hmmm”.

Hi Alexis, glad to see I’m not one of a kind, us wonder women are entitled to be proud of ourselves. Thank you ~ Belle :-)

Yeah me too my friend. I'm always wondering where I left something. My husband is the same way but when he can't find something he thinks it's because I did something with it. He couldn't put anything back where he got it if his life depended on it.(someday it might)Great write here my friend. There is also an old woman in my mirror that won't go away. Love it. God Bless, JB

Enjoyed reading your work about aging and the problems associated with it. My husband is having a terrible time with misplacing items, etc. I am a little younger and wonder what will happen when I get in the same shape as he is in now? Will we be able to survive. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara

Thank you Sara, best thing to do is try not to worry about what might or might not happen in the future and live life to the full one day at a time. Belle

In old age, we have earned the right to be forgetful. And I'm always wondering where the years have gone. Enjoyed your poem and can relate to every line. Hope you find that lottery ticket! Hugs, Carolyn

She is a wonder woman like the rest of us ,getting old, and yet isn't she mythical? I think she can stay youthful looking forever! Nicely done, Belle.

- Thank you for that ... both young and "old" forget ... and wrinkles are a sign of wisdom ... not age at all, my young friend :) - I turn 24 every year :) - A fun and lovely dikt, Belle :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
