Woman of Africa

Woman of Africa Woman of Africa you are more than a rock You are more than the pillar of a nation You are more. You are more and enough for yourself. You are the reason why a rock is able to stand firm in its own entity Woman of Africa The tears of a woman aren't moving, they are completing They carry so much weight because they remind you of what life is all about Woman of Africa. You aren't just an African woman, you are the woman behind all woman You are the woman who builds a man yet stands behind him You are the woman who builds herself in order to build others You are the woman who builds others even when you're breaking because you understood that building another meant restoring yourself Woman of Africa You are the woman who doesn't shine but is still  chosen because of their sun You are the entire manifestation of all healing properties You are more than a feeling, words and emotions, you are a home. Woman of Africa You are a home for yourself. You are a home to yourself. You are human Anyone who dares to kicks you, just like one would kick a rock only hurts themselves So unmoved and unshakeable in your appearance even when there are cracks. Woman of Africa. Rise up, this is not your time. This is The Time. -Sihle Simelane
