Woes of Winters Cold

I sit to write of winters woes
lots of snow and chilly toes
windy days the nights so cold
wonder if the wood will hold
frosty windows drafty to
many things we had to do
keep the fires burning high
most sneaks out to cold outside
stuff the doors and cracks with cloth
such a shame the heat is lost
ye old house is not so nice
lots of cold and full of ice
it's a home and it's alright
cuddle closely in the night
sure to hold on very tight
four in bed fits just right
pj's , socks and caps and more
sure to keep the heat we store
for tonight cuddling close
we have dreams of tomorrows hope
