Woe To Time That Ravages This Face

I've noticed an aging look that's changing,
wrinkles and dark spots start appearing;
the beauty of youth is a passionate fruit...
until it gets ripe and loses firmness and glow!
I had the smoothest skin exposed to scorching sunlight,
a deep tan looked great when my mood was so mellow!

Woe to time that ravages this face with haste,
more sunny days and sweetness I must taste;
time, be gentle with me as a tiger is tender with her cub!
Mankind is Nature's enemy that burns every shrub,
and leaves no home for the green shivering sterling
left without shelter: he refuses to sing his sweet song!
